One of the biggest problems I see with our country today is the lack of knowledge on the part of the general public about how the American system of Government works and the values and principles behind it. There’s a lot of talk about how the system is broken and how it needs to change. This blog is an attempt to try to show why I think people generally believe that change is necessary and why I don’t believe that it is. I’ll almost definitely throw in some other posts about political issues and controversies that don’t really have anything to do with that.

It is somewhat difficult to discuss politics because of the many and mostly ambiguous meanings of political words. Not only that, but the meanings have changed tremendously since the founding of our Nation. In all of my posts, I’ll try to be as explicit as I can about the meanings that I attach to these words.

UPDATE: I’ve changed my mind about the purpose of this site. I’m pretty much going to write on whatever is currently on my mind.
